The way the content is repeated using both the visuals and the audios makes exploring the content interesting and helps to reinforce the content. All of the practice activities are presented in an interesting way that you do not usually see when doing grammar drills. I like the community writing because of the feedback. I also like reading what others have to say. I like the Caminos format for learning Spanish. I have never had a structured lesson planned the way Caminos has been designed. Caminos combines a creative story, aimed at improving proficiency in one grammar area, combined with appropriate vocabulary that strengthens the intermediate learner’s ability. This program is self paced and easy to follow. It allows the learner to repeat sections as often as needed and has pdf transcripts (that highlight the grammar skill) to allow you to follow along with the story. There are also worksheets provided to help with the skill, vocabulary, and story plot. Direct and Indirect object pronouns can be confusing in Spanish, but, after using this module I feel so much more confident in my understanding of their use. I feel that this program may really help me feel more organized in planning my daily study of Spanish because it includes listening, reading, vocabulary, and speaking.
I love these resources. It’s because Erica is a very gifted teacher, and she breaks everything down in a way that is clear and logical. She also is relaxed and presents grammar concepts in a “gentle” way that I really like. I think Caminos is great – both for the creative storytelling and for the lesson activities. I enjoyed Destinos, but I did not get into the Spanish lessons that went with it. Caminos offers interesting stories that are paced so that I can follow the dialogue as a Spanish learner. The story lessons gave me a chance to absorb the vocabulary and the grammar so that the next time I listened, my comprehension was much improved. This works for me so much better than learning Spanish from a textbook or online vocabulary builder program.

Hey there! I’m Erica Ray, Founder of Caminos Conversation Club and Caminos Spanish Story Club. I’m a certified language coach, Spanish teacher, and former medical interpreter. I’ve worked professionally with the Spanish language for the past 15 years and I’ve had the privilege of serving over 400 students in my Spanish programs with everything from building a routine as a brand-new beginner to overcoming the intermediate hurdle.
I’ve loved stories even before I started learning Spanish. Since childhood, I’ve adored being transported away into a book.
Reading and writing everything from poetry to stories has formed a part of my identity ever since I can remember. I have my mom to thank for that, who is an amazing writer and storyteller.
When I started learning Spanish, I fell in love with the language through stories; both fiction tales as well as the personal stories of the wonderful Spanish-speaking friends I made.
This helped me connect to the heart of Spanish before anyone ever tried to convince me that I should learn mainly by memorizing lists of vocabulary and pouring my time into grammar rules (no thanks!).
Today I feel privileged to help other Spanish learners discover the joys of learning Spanish through stories and human interaction and finally make the progress that they so desire…naturally.

What exact level is Caminos for?
LIVE SPEAKING CLASSES
We have live speaking classes for beginners to upper-beginners (A1-A2) and intermediates (B1-B2). Levels can be subjective and hard to measure precisely. Plus a lot will depend on your confidence level. Therefore, if you’re unsure, we recommend attending both an Apprentice and an Intermediate class to see what suits you best.
SELF-STUDY STORY COURSES
The self-study portion of Caminos is desgined for the A2-B2 level (upper-beginner/lower-intermediate to high intermediate).
The reason that Caminos is effective for intermediate learners of different levels is because it’s designed to give you a monthly grammar focus within the story and improve in that area. We’ve noticed that these are common grammar struggles for intermediate learners both in the low as well as high intermediate levels.
There are certain optional aids (such as captions, the ability to slow down or speed up the story, and even a version of each story that contains optional English subtitles). Therefore students can adjust the program to meet them where they are and get to the next level with their Spanish.

How much time will Caminos take me?
Each Caminos Conversation Club Intermediate session lasts 1 hour. Apprentice sessions last 45 minutes. We encourage you to come to as many as you can!
The stories within Caminos have been designed to fit into your life. With 15-20 minutes per day, many students can easily complete one story course per month. The courses are conveniently divided into 4 parts in case you’d like to focus on one part per week, however feel free to work slower or faster than this.
Do I need anything else besides this program?
Caminos has all of the materials you need within it to complete the courses and advance wonderfully with your Spanish. Of course, you may enjoy using free online tools, such as dictionaries, if you need help understanding something.
Caminos and its included materials aid you with listening, reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Access to ALL of the Caminos Conversation Club sessions are included with your membership! The program is quite complete!
However, you’ll learn best if you include Spanish in your day-to-day life wherever you can! But you can relax knowing that you have your structured bases covered with Caminos.

Can I use Caminos as a supplement to what I'm already doing?

What type of Spanish do you teach?
We teach Latin American Spanish and culture. Our story narrators and teachers are from different countries of Latin America, including Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, and Colombia. Our courses do not cover Castilian Spanish.
